Do you think Facebook could replace traditional email? Or is FB just a fad that will soon be replaced with something better like it did for MySpace? Is Google Buzz the next best thing in social networking?
FB is one of the only ways I keep in touch and up to date with my friends I've made in other countries while on my Disney College Program. I don't, however, feel like it will completely replace email because email seems more professional and private (if there is such a thing online!) than FB. I don't think that FB is a short fad like MySpace, but I can't say that it is here to stay forever because everyone thought Kodak and film were here to stay.
I hope it's not just a fad... i'm still mourning the lack of interest in Myspace. I loved how cerative I could be with the layout of my page. Facebook simply isn't as exciting.
I am honestly very disappointed in the early release of Google Buzz. With all its privacy concerns, not to mention that I feel its competing with FB/Twitter, rather than using its existing technology to work WITH them - I believe they are going to shove themselves out of the social media spectrum on their own.
